This morning, Aunt Marianne gave me several breakfast choices and I opted for oatmeal and java. I have other pics of Tom and Marianne with BillyBob but you can nebber have too many so I persuaded them to pose for another this year.

Day 16 PRE Check

I don't have too far to go today and yesterday wasn't a long leg so the only check I made was engine oil. Again, BillyBob started easier with a little choke. Mother was set to take us to the Krash Lab and off we went.

It was raining there, the hardest rain we hit the entire trip. The rain in Oklahoma was a drizzle by comparison. This rain was over in fifteen minutes and it was clear again by the time Mother turned us on to I95.

Click to display large 336Kb image in separate windowBy the time we entered West Palm Beach from the north, it was clear that Mother was going to run us thru the gauntlet. It being sunday morning, it wasn't the deathmatch this stretch of I95 is between Palm Beach and Miami during the weekday rush hours.

Click to display large 380Kb image in separate windowAfter Mother took us thru the worst I95 had to offer, she wanted us to get off I95 at Boynton Beach which is a few exits short of Boca Raton and easier Interstate traveling then we had already been thru. I vetoed that and put her in passive mode. We were soon at our last stop before BillyBob's shadetree. One more gas up at the Valero station a block away from the office. This was done for the mileage calcs (I didn't know at the time that I would shorly destroy my figures in a laundry batch at the Krash Pad).

BillyBob is back under the tree with his stablemates, Renegade and BettyLou. I checked on my parrot, Wingnut, and the servers inside and unloaded some of the things that I wouldn't need at home. just shy of 4,000 miles and 16 days and, once again, BillyBob took it all in stride.

1. Date and Time June 1, 2008
about 11:45 AM *
2. Odometer about 32,990 *
3. Mileage about 140 *
4. Elapsed Time about 3 hrs, 30 min *

* stats from here on out are WAG (wild ass guesses) 'cause they were written on scraps of paper and stuffed in my back pocket with gas receipts. First thing I did when I got home to the Krash Pad is wash those pants for something to wear to the cruise-in. The scraps of paper and receipts got washed too. AARRRUUGH!
