Mother started us out on two-lane blacktop and small towns today. I think we're still in Greenville here but I'm not sure. Still the cool part of the day but I'm confident I will drink all four bottles of water before the day is done.
By mid-morning, Mother was taking us thru a little berg by the name of Enterprise, Alabama. That set off a flag in my head. Enterprise is where the boss's cobra, Big Red, was built. A couple of months ago, I ordered air filter caps for the injector stacks. Haven't received them yet but my credit card wasn't charged either. Since I happened to be here, I thought I might just drop by the shop and pick up a set. Stopped in a parking lot and tried to get a wireless connection for Firefly, my laptop. No joy. I called the office back in Boca and the boss's assistant, Virginia, brought up the builder's website for me. Address is a P.O. Box but there is a phone number. I called and got the builder on the phone. He still has the order but his supplier isn't getting the parts to him either. Oh well.
Wildfire on the horizon. I must be back in Florida again. Not long after we entered the state, Mother put us on I10 and kept us there until just after we crossed I75. Then it was two-lane blacktop again. When we were close to St Augustine, I pointed Mother a bit off-course to Orange Park for lodgings. A good thing too. On the way to the lodgings, I blew thru a four-way stop. I wuz half thru the intersection before I saw my sign out of the corner of my eye. It was my mulligan because I was a block from a police station but no police were nearby for my screwup.

* stats from here on out are WAG (wild ass guesses) 'cause they were written on scraps of paper and stuffed in my back pocket with gas receipts. First thing I did when I got home to the Krash Pad is wash those pants for something to wear to the cruise-in. The scraps of paper and receipts got washed too. Damnation!
