HISTORY:

TRAVELS WITH BILLYBOB With apologies to Steinbeck, this area of BillyBob's Garage will be used to log the trips BillyBob and I make together.

WORK-IN-PROGRESS was the restoration of parts of BillyBob that I could accomplish without a garage up until the summer of 2010 when I finally got enough warehouse space to work in. Now, it also includes the continuing work on BillyBob in the shop.

PRE-RESTORATION includes log entries of minor repairs and and adventures between time of purchase and the time when I started restoration, a piece at a time.

JR'S KORNER JR's Korner is the history of BillyBob before I got him authored by my brother, Wm. C. Kephart.

MAINTENANCE:

BILLYBOB MAINTENANCE Ever changing detailing, oil change, lube, etc. maintenance routines specifically developed for BillyBob, including required tools, materials and procedures.

STEALTH SHOP Urban residence design with large integrated shop and separate living quarters for a relative or renter.

December 18, 1995. The auto transporter operator called me at the office to report his arrival back in South Florida. We arranged to meet at the gate entrance to the residental community I lived in. He had picked up the truck on Thanksgiving evening in a blustery snowstorm. Since my brother and his family lived in a rural area inaccessible to tractor-trailer rigs, BillyBob had to be started and driven to the parking lot where the transporter was parked. That was my brother's last adventure with the truck. Mine were about to begin.

The truck had been taken off the transporter in Pompano Beach, Florida, and driven to my residence in Deerfield. The operator arrived at the gatehouse softly cursing my brother under his breath. The truck's gas tank was almost empty when he picked it up, and it was running on fumes by the time he got to my place (Billybob has two gas gauges but neither one works). We got it parked at my apartment complex without incident.

I disconnected the battery and put on the cover I had bought from "California Car Covers". My brother still had to send me the paperwork before I could get Florida insurance, tags and title.
