Problem: I formatted my hard drive and started over by booting to my dos disk and Installing dos. when I remove my last dos disk after setup and press enter like the screen says my computer just sits there. It will only boot when I have dos disk 1 in the machine.

Date: 06.09.1998Hi Alan, Two questions come to mind. First, did you format your hard disk with the same version of DOS you are trying to install? Second, did you use the format command with the "system" parameter like below: A:>FORMAT C: /S The system parameter makes the hard drive bootable. Forgive me if you've already tried the above. If you haven't, try it, then install DOS and let me know how you do. I Remain, L. R.
